Brides.com announces first-ever search for Groom of the Year!

I’m THRILLED to announce that one of our clients has officially made it to the Groom of the Year Competition!

Congratulations to our groom-to-be Luis Sanchez!

While some grooms are typically uninvolved in the wedding planning process, content to just plan the honeymoon and what cool car they'd be driving to the reception--Luis is a round the clock involved groom who shares with his Bride the same vision. He is caring and dedicated to his Bride and family. Groom of the Year nomination is perfectly fit for Luis. ~Cathy

Brides.com has nominated Luis as a finalist on the top 16 grooms-to-be. Contest starts March 2, 2009. To help Luis pass on to the top 8 finalists we need your help! Please help Luis get to the top 8 finalists, to do so go here www.brides.com/groomoftheyear on March 2nd, 2009. There will be a 2nd voting round to help Luis pass on to the TOP 4 finalists, Third round, we need to help him get to TOP 2 and the 4th and final round is to nominate the Groom of the Year!

Voting Rounds

First Round:
16 winning grooms from the Qualifier stage (America votes on their favorite 8) Vote for Luis!!
Starts: Monday, March 2 at 12noon ET
Ends: Sunday, March 8 at 12noon ET
Details: America is introduced to 16 grooms-to-be using their original contest entries

Second Round:
8 winning grooms from the previous round (America votes on their favorite 4) be sure to make Luis YOUR favorite!
Starts: Monday, March 9 at 12noon ET
Ends: Sunday, March 15 at 12noon ET
Details: The 8 remaining grooms-to-be will be introduced with the tuxedos that each of them have designed, along with their wedding colors.

Semi-Finals:
4 winning grooms from the previous round (America votes on their favorite 2)
Starts: Monday, March 16 at 12noon ET
Ends: Sunday, March 23 at 12noon ET
Details: The 4 remaining grooms-to-be will be presented with the registry item that each of them have chosen, along with why they wanted that item

Finals:
2 winning grooms from the previous round (America votes for the Groom of the Year)
Starts: Monday, March 24 at 12noon ET
Ends: Sunday, March 29 at 12noon ET
Details: The 2 remaining grooms-to-be will be featured with a 2 minute video of each, explaining why they should be chosen

The winner will be announced on Monday, March 30, 2009 (time TBD).

Groom of the Year is a Nationwide Competition Sponsored By Tacori, Macy's Wedding & Gift Registry, Men’s Wearhouse, and InterContinental Hotels & Resorts.

The “Groom of the Year” will receive the following Grand Prize: his/hers platinum wedding bands from Tacori, a tuxedo rental for himself and up to 5 groomsmen from Men’s Wearhouse, a $2500 honeymoon voucher for the Montelucia Resort and Spa in Paradise Valley, AZ from InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, a Hammary Furniture entertainment console from Macy’s Wedding & Gift Registry, and a 40” high-definition television set from Brides.com. The total prize package is valued at $10,249.00 USD. There will also be three runner-up prizes awarded, based on vote counts: 1st runner up will receive a $500.00 Macy’s gift card, and the 2nd and 3rd runners-up will each receive $250.00 Macy’s gift cards.
